The iPhone has hundreds of thousands of applications developed by developers around the world. With over 300 new apps added now and then, it’s difficult to sift through all of the iPhone apps to find out which are fun or useful. But before you start downloading or spending money on apps that may or may not be useful for a new iPhone.

It is important to familiarize yourself with the best free apps for a new iPhone because iPhone apps can greatly improve the functionality and capabilities of your already feature-rich mobile device, and most of the best iPhone apps are available for free. makes it even more interesting to download and use. However, before you get started to download the latest app for your new iPhone, you may need to know how to choose the best free apps for your iPhone so that you can get the best out of the apps.

What are the best free apps to download for your new iPhone right now? Well, there are a lot of them! Of course, everyone will have their preferences, which means that in this article we’ll try to keep this list pretty general and useful for everyone. Also, we won’t list many alternatives, at most one or two, and usually the best.

Best messaging / chat apps

Google Hangouts

Hangouts are great for anyone who uses Gmail and other Google services. You can chat with your friends and make video calls with groups of people. It’s not a very good chat app if you really think about it, but since it’s Google, it’s useful.

If Facebook paid $ 16 billion for it, you should probably be taking advantage of it. Just kidding but very useful for anyone with family outside of the US as the rest of them use WhatsApp for messaging.

Facebook Messenger

You can use stickers, make free calls, record voicemail messages, and send free text messages. Messenger is a very useful application for keeping in touch with people. Plus, it’s Facebook, so everyone you know in the world will be there.

If you are a teen, upload it as you will likely want to share inappropriate photos of yourself with other inappropriate teenagers.

Social apps

Best Social Apps

Facebook paper

Paper is the new app from Facebook that allows you to keep track of your news feed in a much more modern user interface. Everything looks better in the Paper app, and you can keep up to date with popular news on various topics.

If you’re not on Twitter already, then you should definitely hop on the bandwagon. Even if you never post, there is a lot of useful information you can get by following the right people or companies on Twitter. In fact, I get better customer service from companies posting on Twitter than if I call or email them these days.

Whether you own a business or work all by yourself, it is important you have a profile on LinkedIn. It’s the best social networking site for professionals. Businesses use LinkedIn like crazy to find great talent. So, keep an eye on your connections via the app.

I’m not a heavy Pinterest user, but that makes me an exception. Pinterest has huge traffic and people seem to love it. Find interesting things regardless of your interests.

Google+ will never replace Facebook, but it’s a good addition. Google+ posts are more polished and timelier than photos of lunches or babies.

Cloud storage

Best cloud storage apps

Dropbox, the most popular and well-known, comes in very handy for storing your files in the cloud. It works on almost all devices, and on iPhone, it’s amazing to download all of your photos and videos automatically. Only problem? Expensive for storage. When you use a lot of data, you pay a lot more than your competition.

Google Drive

My new favorite due to the huge drop in prices: $ 10 per month for 1TB of storage. You only get 500GB on Dropbox for $ 500 a year. My new plan is to move most of the data from Dropbox to Google Drive and then keep using Dropbox, but only for the smaller, cheaper plans. Google Drive can’t automatically import anything from your phone. Google+ can, but the two aren’t a very good fit right now, which Google has to do if they want to compete more with Dropbox.

Although it is from Microsoft, it is a very good application. Almost everyone has a Windows PC, which makes this app really useful. OneDrive is integrated with Office 2013, Windows 8, Windows Phone, Microsoft Surface, and other Microsoft products. So, if you are in the Microsoft world, this is a good cloud storage app. It’s also cheaper than Dropbox in terms of storage space.

Weather app

Best Weather apps

There are a million weather apps out there and it really depends on preference so you can hate my list! If you really like something else, post it in the comments.

Yahoo Weather

This is my favorite because it has a nice interface and pretty much all of the information you need unless you are passionate about the weather. If so, you will likely be spending the money on a fancy weather app. But for free, it’s just perfect.

The underground weather

Lots of people swear by this app and I’ve used it too and really liked it. It’s free but has ads. This is the only downside. You can pay 99 cents and have the ads removed, but we’ll try to name only the best free apps. Whatever the announcements, it’s still a great weather app.

Camera apps

Best camera/photo apps

The Flickr app allows you to browse your Flickr photos and download everything from your iPhone to the free 1TB storage account. If you take a lot of photos, this is a great option. It is also equipped with filters and editing tools. You can therefore correct your photos before uploading them to Flickr, Twitter, or Facebook.

Google+ is primarily a social networking app, but I listed it in the top camera/photo apps as it is really great for photos. If you’ve used Picasa Web Albums in the past, they have been converted to Google+ Photo Albums and can all be accessed through the Google+ app. Plus, it will automatically upload all of your photos and videos to Google+ and automatically create animated GIFs, enhance photos, and more.

It’s hard not to find a friend who doesn’t use Instagram. Even though Facebook bought them, they remain one of the most popular photo-sharing apps.

The above apps are mostly related to viewing and saving photos, but Snapseed works well for photo effects. You can transform and customize photos with the many options and tools that this app includes for free.

Photo Editor by Aviary

Another free app but that has in-app purchases if you want more effects than basic effects. The free version has a lot of features and more than enough to make some pretty cool edited photos.

As with Aviary’s Photos app, this gives you a basic set of filters and lets you buy more through in-app purchases. The program uses advanced technology to add stunning effects to your photos.
